ABOUT US

Fetish culture (which includes Leather and BDSM) is basically all about embracing your sexuality, shedding all cultural shame and judgment imposed upon sexual diversity, and learning how to explore the limits of your sexual psyche safely, sanely, consensually, and openly with the support and guidance of fellow kinksters.

As warm and fuzzy as that all sounds, most people who are unfamiliar with the Kinky Community still see it as something dark and intimidating. As much as we all like good sex and as much as some of us would like to make it even better, such fear and intimidation often acts as a formidable barrier which keeps people from entering the community. Others simply don't know how to get started.

Back in 2005, the organizers of the Mr. Leatherman Toronto Competition (MLTC) decided to make community outreach and education a top priority. MLTC Weekend has now become one of the largest and most important Kink education weekends in Canada, attracting presenters and hundreds of attendees from across North America and Europe to Toronto every November.

Following the success of the MLTC Weekend Seminar Program, MLTC and the founders of the now-defunct “Safer SM Project” recognized how the Toronto Fetish Community lacked entry points and educational opportunities for people unfamiliar with kink and fetish. This led to the creation of the “So You Want To Be Kinky???” program in 2007.

“So You Want To Be Kinky???” is unique among fetish/kink/BDSM programs in that it is aimed specifically at individuals who have little to no experience. This quarterly (January, April, July, and October) series of workshops is designed to be fun and interactive, sticking primarily to the fundamentals of basic technique and safety. The program's goals are to help individuals overcome their fears associated with edgier sex, to provide people with a solid foundation upon which they may expand their sexual explorations more safely, and to provide a fun and very social entry point into the Fetish Community.

MLTC is a registered not-for-profit organization in the Province of Ontario. All our organizers and presenters are unpaid volunteers who donate our time and share our knowledge because we passionately believe in the need and value of these outreach and education programs. Because of this, and because of our desire to keep our programs accessible, admission costs to workshops are kept as low as possible (usually $10.00, with special events sometimes costing $20.00). Revenues generated are reinvested into the programs to keep admission costs as low as possible.
